Gizel Dining Table

Glass table and variations on geometric principles

This table is composed of a clear 10 x 1100 x 2400 mm glass slab resting on a pair of wooden trestles. The trestles were our focus, and we wanted to innovate the traditional concept of A or T-shaped trestles.

The result is a freer, more organic shape. The basis for this object was the isosceles triangle pyramid, or rather its planes, which eventually resulted in a central V-shaped part from 15mm thick plywood to which two trapezoidal legs of solid bleached oak are attached with inset bolts and exposed nuts. The company Dorint produced two tables for Holmes Place Křižíkova 44 in Prague.
